When you’re looking for a solid oak floor, it’s sometimes hard to choose between matt and lacquered. Matt looks great, but can stain more easily, and lacquered sometimes looks too shiny. If this strikes a chord with you, check out this natural solid oak semi matt lacquered flooring.
A real compromise between full matt and full lacquer, this semi matt is the perfect half way house. It gives you the protection you need and the look you want. When you choose this option, you get a classic, natural and neutral backdrop that will look great no matter your interior style.
Wood Flooring Type | Solid
Solid wood flooring is one of the most popular choices because it is so natural and stylish. The choice of wealthy landowners and stately home owners for centuries, this flooring solution is now within everyone's reach. Solid wood flooring is also known as real hardwood flooring because it is made from one piece of 100% hardwood timber. Because of it, solid wood flooring is highly durable and you will be able to sand, refinish or re-coat several times thereby greatly extending the useful life of the floor. Due to their nature, solid wood flooring is recommended for those who wish to rejuvenate the floor due to heavy foot traffic.
Hardwood Species | Oak
Oak is a really popular wood flooring option, both in solid and engineered wood flooring varieties. It is popular because it is particularly strong and will last for years and years. Oak wood flooring allowed colour variation between planks which can vary from light to dark shades.
Grade | Natural
When wood is processed it is graded into one of four different categories: prime, select, natural or rustic. This grading process takes into account the number and the size of knots that are present in the wood, the consistency of the colour and the amount of sap naturally present in the wood. The Natural grade of this floor allows little sapwood, knots of varying sizes some mineral streaks, natural grain pattern and colour variation. Any knots, splits or imperfections might be filled by dark/brown or wood colour filler.
