Matt Oak Flooring Keeps The Natural Beauty Of The Wood

Lacquered oak flooring is recognised as one of the toughest and most resistant flooring options available, however, until recently lacquered finishes have meant an end look that has a slight shine. For anyone seeking a truly matt finish, until now, the only real option has been to choose an oiled finish. But now this has changed.

At Wood and Beyond we’re delighted to let you know that we now have a small stock of matt oak flooring available that means you really can enjoy the best of both worlds. These three floors have all been treated with a matt lacquer and look just like oiled flooring but boast all the benefits of a lacquer finish. Let’s introduce you to them one by one:

Select Engineered Oak Flooring that’s Click System and Matt Lacquered

This Select Engineered Oak Flooring that’s Click System and Matt Lacquered is perfect if you’re looking for a really natural looking wood floor that’s quick and easy to fit. The click system used in the production of this floor means that your floor boards literally click into place. Add to this convenience and speed of fitting, the great looks of this floor and you can see why we and our customers believe it’s a real winner.

Even though it has a lacquered finish, because the lacquer is matt, you’d be forgiven for thinking the finish used here is oil. A nice wide board, this warm honey coloured floor will boost any room – modern or traditional.

Prime Engineered Oak Flooring in Herringbone, White Grey Brushed and Matt Lacquered – 582mm

Alternatively, you have this Prime Engineered Oak Flooring in Herringbone, that’s White Grey Brushed and Matt Lacquered – 582mm. This floor is as stylish as it is hardwearing and is hard to beat if you’re looking for something just a little bit different. Herringbone flooring has been around for a very long time but went slightly out of fashion for a while. At Wood and Beyond we’re delighted to say that it is now very much back in demand.

This floor again has a matt lacquer finish and with its white grey brushed treatment it looks like it has been created with a stately home or castle in mind. The colouring is really subtle, which means that although this is a modern twist on a traditional idea, you could safely use it in pretty much any setting.

In fact, we’ve seen this option used in both cutting edge modern interiors and in casual, more traditional settings and it works exceptionally well in each. The bottom line is that with this solution, you really can’t go wrong. This particular option has boards that are just under 60cm long whereas this option, Prime Engineered Oak Flooring in Herringbone, White Grey Brushed and Matt Lacquered – 790mm the boards are just under 80cm long. Which you plump for will depend on the size of your room and the nature of your particular project.

It’s great news that lacquer is now coming in a stylish, matt finish. We’ve always been fans of lacquered flooring at Wood and Beyond, but we’re conscious that not everyone likes the shine that normally comes with this option. This new range we have means that you truly can have the best of both worlds, enjoying matt oak flooring that keeps the natural beauty of the wood at the fore.

If you’re looking for something just a bit different or out of the ordinary, we have lots to offer and would be delighted to help guide you on what options would work best for your project. All you need to do is email us, call us, come to our Golders Green showroom or reach out on chat on our website. We’d really love to hear from you.
