Light Oak Solid Wood Flooring Constantly Popular

Although engineered wood flooring has dominated centre stage over the past few years, there has been a real trend back towards solid oak in the past few months. The most popular flooring option until not so very long ago, solid wood has really come back into big demand. Although a high quality engineered wood floor looks just like solid wood and in some ways is a whole lot more versatile when it comes to the likes of bathrooms and kitchens, there are still great arguments for choosing solid wood.

If you’re in the market for light oak solid wood flooring, you’re not alone. Light oak solid wood flooring is constantly popular and to be honest, it’s easy to see why. At Wood and Beyond we are passionate about everything that’s wood-related and love nothing more than the smell and feel of a piece of light solid oak. At the time of writing, we have two lovely options in stock.

There’s this pale blonde option which has been brushed white and hardwax oiled or there’s this extra grey brushed, hardwax oiled solution. Both are quite simply stunning. Here’s how we’ve seen them best used:

Natural solid oak – brushed and white hardwax oiled

This light blonde, creamy, almost mushroom coloured floor is stunning, no matter where you choose to put it. We’ve seen it used in a whole host of settings, including an ultra-modern monochrome colour scheme, with chintzy traditional furnishings and faded, comfy colour palettes. It seems that no matter where you choose to put this floor it’s a winner.

And you needn’t be fearful of maintaining its great looks either. Thanks to its hardwax oil finish, all it ever needs is a quick vacuum, a light mop and it will look great.

Although this floor isn’t suited for installation in bathrooms and kitchens, it works as a great solution used throughout apartments and homes with complimentary flooring in the wet or steamy parts of the home. What this means is that you can extend this light oak solid wood floor from your hallway into your living room, sitting room, dining room and bedroom and then set it off with tiles, for example, in the likes of your bathrooms or kitchens. Working this way means you have all the peace of mind you need and all the great looks and style you deserve.

A nice chunky board, this floor is currently on offer at just under £45 per square meter, which represents a 70% saving on its previous selling price. It is a complete bargain and will delight you – no matter where you plan to put it.

Natural solid oak, extra grey, brushed and hardwax oiled

Once again, this light oak floor is a stunner. With more of a golden tone than the other option, if you’re looking for warmth and style, this is your best choice. It sports a highly visible grain which has been brought to the fore by the brushing process that these boards have gone through. One of the most natural looking light oak floors we’ve seen in a long time, this floor once again works throughout the home except where you would expect significant temperature or moisture fluctuations.

In a recent project, we used it in a huge, open-plan lounge, dining room that was all white with exposed brickwork on the walls. It was a real masterpiece and set the room off to a tee without stealing the show.

Again an easy to maintain option, it is on offer at just over £46 per square meter, reduced from a previous price of £153.68 – which is a huge saving.

If you’re keen to track down a stunning oak solid wood floor, you would do well to have these two on your radar.
