Loading... Please wait...2. Quick sweep and hover - The last thing you would want is to apply grains of the dirt and dust into the wood. Start by sweeping the cleaning source, followed by hovering the area to ensure any traces of dirt are cleaned.
3. Mop the floor - Water and wood do not normally mix, however by using an almost dry damp mop rather than a wet mop water won't seep into the wood.
4. Consider using cleaners - Although following up on steps 1 to 3 will see the floor getting almost that factory look back, some commercial cleaners can help. Always make sure you read the label thoroughly to ensure that it is suitable for your hardwood floors and refer to the manufacturer site for hardwood floor specific recommendations.
5. Waxing the floor - This optional stage also known as 'wax polish' can improve the colour of the wood, but avoid using often as it might build up and attract dirt.
Bonus tip - Consider testing your cleaning method on a small surface of hardwood flooring area before applying your cleaning on the entire floor, especially if you are using commercial cleaners for the first time.
