Engineered flooring 'increasingly popular choice'

Posted on 8th Apr 2011 @ 12:51 PM

Individuals are increasingly opting for engineered flooring as they seek cost-effective home improvement products.

According to a new report by Frost & Sullivan - a business research and consulting firm - even with the decline in house building, the engineered wood (EW) market is still expected to see growth.

The number of "environmentally-smart" materials being made in this sector is helping to improve its appeal.

"European countries are framing new policies to promote green buildings and are revising the existing building regulations to clear the bottlenecks in the way of renewable building material usage," the company observed.

In terms of industrial applications, it has been revealed that Europe has the highest penetration level of EW products.

This means individuals who are considering redecorating their property may be more likely to go for engineered flooring over hardwood or other alternatives, while it has the added benefit of being cheaper as well.
