Engineered flooring 'good for rooms with moisture'

Posted on 31st Mar 2011 @ 4:29 PM

Engineered flooring is the best option for rooms where there are high levels of moisture.

This means areas such as bathrooms and basements may be the perfect location for this type of surface, the Metro News website reports.

The news provider added: "This engineered flooring contains a real wood surface with underlying layers of plywood or fibreboard. These give the product its strength and resilience."

Because of these benefits, it has a number of advantages over hardwood options in certain situations.

According to the information outlet, the quality of the floors on show may often be the first thing that catches the eye of people.

Homeowners will want to consider what is on offer before making a final decision, although engineered flooring can be installed by skilled DIY enthusiasts.

It comes after the Ottawa Citizen said on top of everything else, this flooring choice will not shrink in cold weather.
